Written by Arnold B. Horwitt (“Plain and Fancy”) and Emmy Award winner Richard Lewine ("Cinderella","My Name is Barbra"), this new production of the hit 1948 revue that starred Sid Caesar is a loving send-up of New York City's most infamous borough, complete with struggling actors, disgruntled theatre critics and hapless out-of-towners. This newly restored and revised production will star eight performers and feature discarded dialogue and four musical numbers cut prior to the revue's Broadway bow.

Seeking:

Male One:

20s - early 30s. Charismatic song-and-dance man. Bright-eyed young leading man, just arrived in New York City. He is essentially our narrator as he takes us on his adventures in Manhattan, always in his dashing, sophisticated style. Must be a true triple threat. Baritenor.

Male Three:

20s - early 30s. Boyishly charming young man, in love with Female Three. Outfitted with a high-strung lament of dating frustration as well as touching song-and-dance numbers. Must be a true triple-threat. Baritenor.

Male Four:

20s - late 30s. Charming and likable character man, caught in a deliciously volatile relationship with Female Four. In addition to their feisty spats, he also plays a pompous, pretentious, over-the-top film director and a disgruntled theatre critic. Male Four is firmly rooted in songs and sketches, and must have strong comic timing and be adept with character work; there is little or no dancing for this role. Baritenor.

Female One:

20s - early 30s. Charismatic, dynamic song-and-dance leading lady. Offbeat, but enraptures everyone she passes. She is a struggling actress who is clearly simply awaiting her big break. Additionally, she is provided some choice character turns as a street hoofer and a tabloid editor. A true triple-threat with attitude and charm. Mezzo/belter.

Female Three:

20s - early 30s. Charming, engaging young woman, in love with Male Three. Over the course of the revue, we see her bloom in both song and dance: while she starts confident and searching, she ends purely radiant. Must be a triple threat. Mezzo/belter.

Female Four:

20s - late 30s. Brassy, outrageous character woman, stuck in a deliciously volatile relationship with Male Four. Apart from their marvelous spats in song and dialogue, she also delivers two devastating comedic numbers and a fun turn as the over-the-top actress of a new NYC-based film. Female Four is firmly rooted in songs and sketches; there is little or no dancing for this role. Mezzo/belter.

The roles of Male Two and Female Two are cast.
