Seeking:

Jamie Tyrone:

Caucasian male, early 30 to early 40. The older of the Tyrone brothers. Physically robust despite his dissolute lifestyle. Charismatic and wickedly funny, but with a nasty edge. A failed actor and aging alcoholic whose life is rapidly amounting to nothing, Jamie rages violently against his father and brother out of self-loathing and contempt. A domineering and antagonistic older brother, it is only near play’s end that JAMIE drunkenly confesses his less than benevolent intentions to Edmund in an effort to do one good thing by saving his brother from himself.

Edmund Tyrone:

Caucasian male, late 20s to early 30s. The younger of the Tyrone brothers. A restless and sensitive soul, but not without physical vigor and drive. Consumptive for much of his life, Edmund failed out of college and fled the family, seeking solace at sea, which only made him sicker. Now living back at home and trying to start a career as a writer, he refuses almost blindly to give up on his morphine-addicted mother despite her worsening drug use. Harbors an intense rage towards his father and struggles to reconcile his youthful hero-worship of Jamie with the contempt and fear of him he feels in the present. At day’s end, Edmund is a resilient survivor trying to free himself from his family’s living ghosts.
