Amy March:

(18+ to play 12-20s): Short & petite female. The youngest of the March sisters. Grows from a melodramatic child into a mature, well mannered young woman. Should be good at harmony and have a playful quality. Mix Soprano

Aunt March:

(late 30s-70+): Aunt to all of the March girls. High society and crotchety. Actor must have the ability to play several different characters. Soprano

Beth March:

(18+ to play teens): Frail, lovely female. The third eldest March sister, Beth is sweet, shy, and loving. Should be excellent at harmony. Mix Soprano

Jo March:

(18+ to play late teens-20s): A fiery, passionate young woman who is the center of our story. Must have true star quality and have both the acting and vocal chops to lead an entire show. High belt with a good soprano mix.

Marmee March:

(late 30s-50s) Mother to all of the girls. The rock of the family, she is raising her children alone while her husband is off at war. Incredible actress & singer. Alto

Meg March:

(18+ to play late teens-20s) The eldest and most romantic of the March sisters. Meg is extremely lovely, inside and out. The character requires a loving, maternal actress. Strong soprano

Mr. John Brooke:

(mid 20s-30s) Meg's love interest, and Laurie's tutor. Tall, handsome, and gentle. Baritone-Baritenor

Mr. Laurence:

(40s-70+) Laurie's grandfather, he is kindhearted but it's tough to crack his stern exterior. Baritone

Professor Bhaer:

(30s-40s) Jo's friend and eventually love interest. Charming, in a shy way. Speaks with a light German accent. Baritone

Laurie Laurence:

(20s) Jo's neighbor, he has irresistible charm, is clever, playful and big-hearted. Tenor
