Friday, March 30, 2012 at Pearl Studios “519”
10 AM – Equity female dancers who sing 519 Eighth Avenue (Studio D Holding F)

2 PM – Equity male dancers who sing New York City

Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Men: Jazz/character/tap shoes. Women: heels/flats. Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of a traditional musical theater song. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Seeking:

Ensemble Dancers:

Men and women, all ethnicities. Dancers with great singing voices for the ensemble and to understudy some principals. Ensemble characters include (but are not limited to):

Tabarro:

Man, late 40s – mid 50s. An old fisherman with a large build. Masculine and lower class. Actor also understudies Georges, Albin and Dindon/Renaud. Must be a strong actor and singer.

Étienne:

Man, early 20s. Young man with Jean-Michel’s qualities. Must cover. Strong actor/singer/dancer.

Colette:

Woman, early 20s. Young woman with Anne’s qualities. Must cover. Strong actor/singer/dancer.

Especially seeking “Les Cagelles”:

Six men, any ethnicity, early - late 20s. These are not your ordinary drag queens. These male/female creatures are otherworldly and birdlike. Notorious and dangerous. Masculine, athletic, flexible and muscular:

Chantal: Songbird of Avignon.

Hanna: From Hamburg. S&M diva with a whip.

Phaedra: The Enigma.

Mercedes: The Magnificent.

Angelique

Bitelle.

Female Swing:

female, early 20s. This track covers the roles of Anne and Colette and at the same time must also swing for the male ‘Cagelles’ roles – (These are not your ordinary drag queens. These male/female creatures are otherworldly and birdlike. Notorious and dangerous. Masculine, athletic, flexible and muscular. Strong actor/singer/dancer.
