SEEKING

CLASSICALLY TRAINED actors OF ALL ETHNICITIES with SIGNIFICANT

EXPERIENCE in the performance of Shakespeare for our outdoor summer repertory season to include Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet. Actors will be cast in both shows. Experience with stage combat, movement/dance, and singing a plus. We are seeking to assemble a diverse company with some cross-gender casting. Actors of ALL ETHNICITIES are STRONGLY encouraged to audition.

Some roles will be understudied.

Much Ado About Nothing will be staged in post-WW2 California, and some characters will sing in the style of the period. Romeo and Juliet will have an Elizabethan setting.

PREPARATION

Prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues, or one Shakespeare monologue, total time not to exceed 3 minutes.
