SEEKING:
All roles are open to all ethnicities and racial backgrounds, unless specifically noted
Casca:
(35-50 years) (133 Lines)
One of the conspirators against Caesar. He is a charismatic, fun-loving, hard-drinking sort, with a sense of humor. Underneath his easygoing exterior is a man of courage and conviction; he is the first to stab Caesar. Could be overweight. First Rehearsal: July 26th
Decius Brutus:
(35-45 years) (44 Lines)
One of the conspirators against Caesar. Conniving, persuasive, and a skilled word-smith. He convinces Caesar that his wife’s dreams of danger mean nothing, and leads him directly into the hands of the conspiracy. First Rehearsal: August 2nd
Cinna:
(35-50 years) (18 Lines)
A conspirator against Caesar, he plays an integral part in drawing Brutus into the conspiracy, both by prompting Cassius and placing manipulative letters at Brutus’ house. Immediately after Caesar’s murder, he enthusiastically cries “Liberty! Freedom! Tyranny is dead!” First Rehearsal: August 2nd
Lepidus/Cobbler:
(30-65 years old).
- Lepidus: (4 Lines) Lepidus, together with Antony and Octavius, are triumphant against Brutus and Cassius’ forces after Caesar’s death, although Lepidus himself has little real power. A “slight unmeritable man,” he has no ideas of his own, but is artificial and copies the affectations and habits of others. Antony thinks of him as “a mere property,” only a tool.
- Cobbler: (16 Lines) A supporter of Caesar. A “saucy fellow,” he is sarcastic and witty, and makes puns on his trade. First Rehearsal: July 26th
Cicero/Poet:
(50-65 years old)
- Cicero (9 Lines) A Senator with “ferret…fiery eyes,” red with resentment against Caesar. Known for his “silver hairs” and “gravity,” and a Roman renowned for his oratorical skill. The conspirators did not enlist him, for fear he would prove a coward.
- Poet: (7 Lines) A “saucy fellow” who tries to break up a disagreement between Cassius and Brutus after it is already resolved. An over-the-top, “jigging fool”. First Rehearsal: August 2nd
Caius Ligarius/Titinius:
(35-50 years old)
- Caius Ligarius: (15 Lines) A conspirator against Caesar. He holds a grudge against Caesar for treating him harshly in the past. A very sick and feeble man.
- Titinius: (32 Lines)
