Set in and around Manhattan. In 2005, a Jewish 9/11 survivor and a Palestinian 9/11 widow find themselves embroiled in one family’s personal and political dramas. Beth:
Mid 30s, pretty, vulnerable, funny, trying to find her way.
Josh:
Late 30s, becoming orthodox due to a sense of guilt, at odds with his family because of his decision.
Etha:
Early to mid 30s, Josh’s younger brother, dry sense of humor, looking for the next new best thing, dating Beth.
Jessica:
Early 30s, Josh’s wife, pretty, funny and bright but not fulfilled, Jewish but not religious.
Rachel:
60-ish, Josh and Ethan’s mother, a loving Jewish mother who only wants the best for her children.
