No appointment necessary. The producer will run all aspects of this call. Equity audition procedures will not be in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided.
Please prepare a brief comic monologue, and tell a joke. Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.
Radio performers perform in a live radio version of “It’s A Wonderful Life” on Christmas Eve in 1946.
Seeking (all roles are available):
Casting Director’s note: “Each performer should be adept at comedy and possess ability to play multiple characters with a distinct array of voices. In between the live radio show there are radio commercials of the period, so singing is a plus.”
Freddie Filmore:
40s-60s. Radio actor who plays Potter, Joseph, Peter Bailey, Ernie, Old Man Collins, etc.
Jake Laurents:
30s - early 40s. Radio actor who plays George Bailey (younger and older).
Sally Applewhite:
30s - early 40s. Radio actress who plays Mary Hatch (younger and older).
Lana Sherwood:
30s-40s. Radio actress who plays Violet, Rose Bailey, Ruth, Zuzu, Janie, etc.
Harry “Jazzbo” Heywood:
40s-60s. Radio actor who plays Harry, Clarence, Sam, Bert, Tommy, etc.
Sound Operator:
20s-40s. Actor who makes all of the sound effects of the live radio show. Actor in this role may also do a standup-comedy-style routine to warm up show audiences.
Theatre encourages non-Equity actors to attend, and states that they will be seen whenever there is no Equity actor auditioning or waiting to audition.
