Seeking (all tracks are available):

Casting notes: The multi-cultural cast of this musical has four men and women. With the exception of Man #4, all must be excellent singers and skilled actors, with very strong comic timing. The cast must move well (several dance), and all must have basic tap dancing skills. Experience with complex language is essential.

Man #1:

Track age: 35-45. Track for a character actor; strong baritone. Delivers a long, absurd monologue, plays the Rhinoceros, an authoritarian politician and others.

Man #2:

Track age: 30-40. Track for a handsome leading man; sweet tenor; dancer with partnering experience. Great comic timing needed. Plays an apache dancer, a vaudevillian, a bureaucrat and others.

Man #3:

Track age: 25-35. Track for a young male with a pop/rock voice. Plays a transvestite, a vaudevillian, a politician and others.

Man #4:

30-50. The “little man”. Non-speaking /non-singing role; requires great pantomime and movement skills. This actor plays the mute “narrator” (a stand-in for Mr. Ionesco), using a physical vocabulary that combines “silent-movie” pantomime, magic, dance and clowning.

Woman #1:

Track age: 25-35. Track for a beautiful ingénue; soprano. Plays the Bald Soprano, a beauty queen and others.

Woman #2:

Track age: 30-45. Track for a woman with chest voice (very sexy torch singer); great dancer. Plays an apache dancer, the three-nosed bride and others.

Woman #3:

Track age: 35-45. Track for a character woman with chest voice. Regal and poised. Plays a former ballerina, a charismatic leader, an earth mother and others.
