NOTE: This is the world premier of the stage adaptation of Ralph Elliison's great novel.
Invisible Man:
African-American Male, 30s - late 40s. The iconic title role of Ralph Ellison’s great novel, Invisible Man constantly struggles with identity and how to be recognized and accepted at first by the white community around him and then by his own. He is stuck between the desire to be please, the need to make a difference and ultimately never discovers who he is in his own right. He is never domineering, yet dominates the action. Intelligent and introspective. Must have charm and the ability to persuade and champion. But he must also have a sensitivity and naïveté, which makes him vulnerable to the manipulation of others.
