* Salary note: This production will be presented in the Rep's intimate Studio Theatre (Equity LORT D Contract) but the show will pay more in the LORT B+ range.
* The role of Mr. Daldry will be cast locally.
Seeking:
Dr. Givings:
Early 40s, Caucasian male, a specialist in gynecological and hysterical disorders. Clinical, precise, reserved, but not without a passion for ideas. An intellectual with little sense of the sensual. A reasonably handsome fellow. Language skills.
Catherine Givings:
Late 20s, Caucasian female, with an insatiable curiosity, restlessness, and unthinking tongue. Her words come before thought and in great bursts. In many respects a resplendent, energetic caged bird. Language skills.
Sabrina Daldry:
Early 30s, an ethereal beauty who transforms from anemic and hypersensitive to robust and risk taking. Language skills.
Annie:
Late 30s, Caucasian female, a midwife whose patience and steadfastness belies a poet’s heart. A lover of the Greek language. Language skills.
Leo Irving:
An Englishman in his late 20s or 30s, Caucasian male. An artist of Byronic proportions whose passions will consume him and those around him. Terribly handsome, if unconventionally, but definitely sensual. Language skills.
Elizabeth:
African-American female, early 30s, a wet-nurse by default. Beautiful and raw with the sadness of the loss of her son. Language skills.
