SEEKING:

Naomi:

(African American Female, mid 30s). A lieutenant in the army serving in Afghanistan. She is fit, hard body: a physical rock. Should be charismatic and attractive. Mid-30s going on 80. Grew up in Mississippi. Assertive, highly refined sense of honor, fearless, quick to act, straightforward and aggressive, protective, responsible and independent. She is grieving and numb, worn, has PTSD. Has lost interest in life. Naomi is Gail’s sister-in-law, Eddie’s wife.

Anisah:

(Afghani Female, 20s). An Afghani and a translator for the American army in Afghanistan – worked for Eddie and Naomi. Nurturing, hopeful, a survivor, tenacious, internally tough, self-aware, playful, smart, curious, strong and grounded. Straightforward and unafraid. She is educated and adventurous, brave yet modest. Has a good sense of humor. As a result of her job, she has been disowned by her family. Afghani accent.

Gail:

(Caucasian Female, 40s). Born and bred in Mississippi, she is a force of nature. Running for mayor. Comes from the working class, resilient, strong, smart, funny, brash, impulsive, speaks her mind, businesswoman, efficient, understands power, likeable, maternal, bossy. Naomi’s sister-in-law.

Bo Junior:

(Caucasian Male, 25). Born and bred in Mississippi. Handsome and sexy. Broken, damaged, blames self, shut down, landscaper specializing in Xeriscaping. Living a machine-like existence to cover up what’s going on in his head. Creative, hard worker. Accepting, angry, brooding. Was going to be a teacher, was engaged before accidentally killing his brother. Also plays fast food server. Actor should have good comedic skills.

Bo Senior / Eddie:

(Caucasian Male, 40s). A former contractor, a working class guy born and bred in Mississippi. Solid, salt of the earth, comfortable in his own skin, feels deeply, a more progressive guy than one might typically expect in Mississippi. Seeks to heal himself, a poet, virile yet sensitive, funny and sympathetic. Strong comedic skills. This track plays multiple roles including a senator, congressman, governor, fast food server, and EDDIE: Gail’s brother, mid-30s, white, born and bred in Mississippi, a sergeant in the army serving in Afghanistan, twinkle in his eye, in the moment, accepting, playful, good sense of humor.
