This is a musical. All actors must be funny, quirky, versatile performers along the lines of Saturday Night Live or Forbidden Broadway. All actors must be strong singers with a pop sensibility. Seeking a diverse company; ethnic performers strongly encouraged to submit.
ALL ACTORS ARE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS, and will be required, as such, to lift scenery, costumes and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs (up to 60 lbs).
Seeking:
Female 1:
18+. Strong Soprano / pop belt; Quirky ingénue to play assorted characters, including a girl who wakes up one morning to find that she has antlers. Precocious.
Female 2:
18+. African American. Strong pop belt; ingenue. Plays a bunch of young girls; all have a lot of oomph & energy including Grace, a girl who dreams of playing Peter Pan, and a girl who goes to school plagued by a “math curse”. Also plays a dorky little brother.
Female 3:
18+. African-American. Character actress. Strong Pop Belt. Has to wail the life out of a few songs. plays older characters as well as kids. Big roles are Grace's Nana and Principal Washington (imagine Effie as a school principal).
Female 4:
18+ character actress. Mezzo / Belt. Quirky and fun. Plays a mix of kids and adults, including Mrs. Fibonacci, a math teacher who becomes a math monster.
Male 1:
18+. To play Owen, et al. Quirky juvenile. High Baritone / Tenor. Guy to be funny and, of course, have a lovable, youthful quality. plays: the Linus-like Owen who does not want to get rid of his blanket too soon, and the Coyote, with an Antonio Banderas-like accent and swagger.
Male 2:
Character man. To play Dad, Doctor, et al. 20s. Baritone. Plays a mix of adults and kids, including a flustered physician, and boy plagued by a needy mouse, and a man who thinks he is the biggest and strongest in the world. Comedy chops necessary.
