Both characters have a British Dialect. Think Ayckbourn meets Stoppard

Felix:

Early/mid 30s. British Dialect. Preferably a little pudgy. He is a highly intelligent, socially inept astrophysicist. Imagine a British Philip Seymour Hoffman. Emotionally complex, (with a nervous stutter), he has an ironic, self-deprecating and biting sense of humor about himself and his family. His quality is similar to Hamlet’s, as he is struggling to come to terms with the death of his father and marriage of his mother. Imagine Hamlet cast as a character actor or off-beat leading man.

Mercy:

48-55. British Dialect. She is a timid, mousey English spinster who lacks confidence and often apologizes for her presence. She is secretly in love with a man who has no interest in her. She tries her hardest and her efforts are usually judged inadequate.

All ethnicities encouraged to submit.
