Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore, Managing Director Tara Lail will attend with casting
authority.

Performers of all ethnic and racial background are encouraged to attend.

Breakdown

PREPARATION:
Plays only: Come prepared with 2 one-minute contrasting monologues in the style of the
show(s) or from the show(s) you are interested in OR 1 two-minute monologue tailored toward
the specific show you are interested in.

Musicals only: Come prepared with 1 song of up to 32 bars of music in the style of the show(s)
or from the show you are interested in. Be prepared with a 2nd song in the event the producer
asks to see more. Bring your sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella
singing or recorded music.

Both: Come prepared with 1 one-minute monologue and 1 song (up to 32 bars) in the style of
the show(s) or from the show you are interested in. Bring your sheet music. An accompanist
will be provided. No a cappella singing or recorded music.

BECKY'S NEW CAR
-BECKY (REBECCA) FOSTER, a woman in her late 40s.
-JOE FOSTER, Becky’s husband, a roofer, late 40s.
-CHRIS FOSTER, their son, a psychology student, 26.
-WALTER FLOOD, a very wealthy businessman, widowed, 60s.
-KENSINGTON (KENNI) FLOOD, Walter’s daughter, 23.
-STEVE, Becky’s co-worker, widowed, 50.
-GINGER, a neighbor of Walter’s, single, 50’s.

FIDDLE ON THE ROOF
-CHAVA / FRUMA-SARAH (these roles are doubled), CHAVA is Tevye's middle daughter who
loves to read. Falls in love and runs off with Fydeka, a Russian
soldier. Female, 15-20 yrs old. Range: B3 - D5. / FRUMA-SARAH, Lazar's Wolf's deceased first
wife. She becomes enraged when her husband plans to wed Tzeitel. Female, 35-45 yrs old.
Range: C4 - Eb5
-CONSTABLE, Russian military official stationed near Anatevka who knows the
villagers well, however he has superficial relationships with the villagers. Male, 35-45 yrs old.
Speaking Role.
-FYEDKA, A strong, young Russian soldier who sees past his military obligations
and falls in love with Chava. He challenges Tevye's imposed silence. Male, 20-25 yrs old.
Speaking Role
-GOLDE, Tevye's strong-willed wife who wishes for her daughters to have good
husbands and live easier than she and Tevye. Female, 40-50 yrs old. Range: A3 - Eb5
-GRANDMA TZEITEL / YENTE (these roles are doubled), Golde's deceased grandmother, who
endorses the marriage between Tzeitel and Motel. Female, 60-75 yrs old. Range: C#4 - D5. /
YENTE, The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the
town gossip. Female, 50-60 yrs old. Range: F3 - F5
-HODEL, Tevye's second eldest daughter, who becomes involved with Perchik. She eventually
leaves Anatevka to join Perchik in Siberia. Female, 18-23 yrs old. Range: B3 - E5
-LAZAR WOLF, The feisty, brawny butcher and the town's wealthiest citizen who
wishes to marry Tzeitel. Male, 40-50 yrs old. Range: C3 - F#4
-MOTEL, The poor and meek tailor who shares a deep love with Tzeitel. Sensitive
and nervous, but sincere and friendly. Male, 18-25 yrs old. Range: E3 - F#4
-PERCHIK, The outspoken student and visitor to Anatevka, who constantly
challenges the traditions of the town. He eventually falls in love with Hodel. Male,
20-30 yrs old. Range: B2 - E4
-TEVYE, The likeable, hard-working, pious dairyman who always tries to see the
positive side of life. He is a proud patriarch and father of five daughters, closely
raised according to the old scriptures. Male, 45-60 yrs old. Range: Ab2 - F5
-TZEITEL, Tevye's eldest daughter, who is madly in love with Motel. She is loyal to
her family but typically challenges the town's traditions. Female, 18-25 yrs old.
Range: B3 - D5
-RABBI, Anatevka’s Jewish spiritual leader – a man of few words. Male, 60+ yrs old. Baritone.
-SHANDEL, Motel’s mother. Female, 40-50 yrs old. Range: A3-Eb5.
-MORDCHA, An Innkeeper.

-ARNOLD BECKOFF, late 20’s to mid 30’s, a female impersonator, Jewish and proudly Gay.
Possesses great wit and want.
-ED REISS, 30’s, handsome, masculine with a boyish charm, Bisexual. The love of Arnold’s life.
-LAUREL, 30’s, Ed’s girlfriend, thoughtful and bright with a girlish enthusiasm.
-ALAN, Arnold’s “considerably younger” boyfriend, model/actor/hustler; very used
to being wanted for his stunning looks.
-DAVID, teenage, going on 30. Wonderfully bright and handsome boy. Soon-tobe adopted son of Arnold.
-MRS. BECKOFF, 60’s, Arnold’s “very Jewish” mother. A widow. A fighter.
-LADY BLUES, Singer of torch songs – the epitome of “loved and lost.” She represents every
female blues singer that Arnold assumes as a female impersonator.
