Preparation

Non-Musical: Prepare 2 one-minute contrasting monologues.
Musical: Prepare 2 contrasting songs. Bring music in your key; accompanist provided. No a cappella or recorded music.
Both: Prepare 1 one-minute monologue and 1 song.
Bring headshot/resume.

Other
To be considered for both Musicals and Non-Musicals, you MUST audition on the musical day when an accompanist will be present. A cappella singing is not allowed.

Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Always bring your Equity Membership Card to auditions.

PRINCETON, a fresh-faced kid just out of college. Baritenor. (Bflat 2 – G 4)
KATE MONSTER, a kindergarten teaching assistant, a bit older than Princeton. Soprano. (F5 top)
NICKY, a bit of a slacker, who lives with Rod. Baritenor. (B2-B4)
ROD, a Republican investment banker with a secret. Baritenor. (A2-G4)
TREKKIE MONSTER, a reclusive creature obsessed with the Internet. (Bflat 2-Eflat 4)

MICHAEL MCCORMICK, male. Late 20s.

DAVE “ROBBIE” ROBINSON, African American male. Big outside linebacker. Mid 20s.

MANAGING MAXINE by Janece Shaffer
MAXINE LEVINE: THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST. 70 year-old, passionate, outspoken, woman, a writer and academic.
ARTHUR RINZLER: 71 year-old retired judge, strong sense of honor, handsome, good hair, suave.
EMMIE: Maxine’s daughter who is eager to please and over committed to her life as a wife, mother and daughter. In her early 40s.
LARRY: Emmie’s husband who is a nice guy but is often overlooked and dismissed. In his early 40s.
IVY: Arthur’s daughter, 30, former dancer, icy exterior, emotionally wrecked inside. Soon to be a divorcee, mother of one.
LOUIS: Arthur’s best friend, 70s, an old married guy hungry for sexy details.
JOANNE, Maxine’s neighbor and contemporary but unlike Maxine she is already an old lady. Fearful, scared and relieved to be old.

NATALIE: Her daughter. 16 years old and trying to be perfect. It’s not going well. (G3-F5)

OLIVER! by Lionel Bart
A company of adult actors will be cast to portray all of the characters below – many playing multiple roles.
FAGIN: a conniving career criminal, takes in homeless boys and teaches them to pick pockets for him.
NANCY: Bill Sikes's lover. She takes a liking to Oliver and treats him like her own child, but is eventually murdered for the steps she takes on behalf of him.
MR. BROWNLOW: Oliver's grandfather, a kind man of wealth and breeding.
BILL SIKES: Nancy's brutal and abusive lover, a burglar and her eventual murderer.
MR. BUMBLE: the pompous beadle of the workhouse in which Oliver was born.
THE ARTFUL DODGER: the cleverest of Fagin's pickpockets, he introduces Fagin to Oliver.
MR. AND MRS. SOWERBERRY: the insensitive couple who take in Oliver and use him in their funeral business.
MRS. CORNEY: the matron of the workhouse where Oliver was born, later marries Mr. Bumble.
CHARLOTTE SOWERBERRY: the rude but also flirtatious daughter of the Sowerberrys.
NOAH CLAYPOLE: The Sowerberrys' apprentice, he bullies Oliver about his mother and enjoys a flirtatious relationship with Charlotte.
DR. GRIMWIG: foppish doctor and friend of Mr. Brownlow. He assesses Oliver's condition at the beginning of Act II, deeming him fit to go outside.
BET: Nancy's friend [or younger sister, in some productions], one of Fagin's former pickpockets.
CHARLEY BATES: one of Fagin's pickpockets. He is Dodger's sidekick.
MRS. BEDWIN: house-servant to Mr. Brownlow and caretaker of Oliver.
ENSEMBLE – people of London
A separate audition will be posted for the young male actor role of “Oliver Twist.”
OLIVER TWIST, the protagonist of the story. He is a lonely orphan boy born in the workhouse. 13 years old.

UNDER A RED MOON by Michael Slade
JOHN GEORGE HAIGH, “The Acid Bath Murderer”: 38, handsome, smooth and charming. British. He has worked hard to disguise his working class origins both in manner and in speech.
DR. RUTH COVINGTON: Mid-40s. British. A court-appointed psychiatrist. She, too, has worked to eliminate her working class origins.
RALPH GOW: A prison guard. British. Working class. 50s.
