Synopsis: After his wife, Desiree dies of an accidental overdose, Loman faces the harsh reality of raising their son, Luka, alone. The play explores the rapid breakdown of the family unit as a result of addiction.

Seeking:

Luka White:

10 year old Caucasia boy. Very bright-startlingly mature to him, well beyond his years. Has an affinity for horses and horseback-riding. Loves his dad, but loses all hope in him when he starts using drugs again.

Loman White:

Caucasian male, 40s-50s, Luka's father, corporate lawyer, attractive. Something boyish, even childish about him. Alternately looks old and young. Head-over-heels in love with his gorgeous wife, Desiree. Completely broken after her death. Dabbled in drugs during his youth and later becomes a junkie years after his wife's death.

Mira:

Black/Hispanic female, mid-late 40s, attractive, nanny of Luka. Street-smart and book-smart. Afraid her dignity will be compromised by her job. Does not want to be viewed as a “rich white person's maid.” Very familiar with the drug world, angry at Loman for disappointing himself and Luka.

Desiree:

Caucasian female, mid-late 30s, long red hair, very attractive. Loman's wife. Every man wants her and every woman wants to be her. Party girl, loves to go out dancing. Unhappily married because she is not ready to settle down and become an adult. Resentful torwards Loman and Luka. Her recreational use of drugs spirals out of control and ultimately takes her life.
