Please prepare a short contemporary music theatre song that shows off your voice. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose.

Jack:
30s. Betsy’s boyfriend. Appealing, funny and quirky, but terrified of getting married. Blames his reluctance to tie the knot on a curse involving his mother. Seeking an excellent, extremely likable, comedic actor with a great voice. Bari/tenor.
Betsy:
30s. Jack’s girlfriend. Beautiful, funny and very patient schoolteacher. Wants to get married and start a family. Indulges Jack’s “curse” story, but is at the end of her rope and ready to tie the knot. Seeking an extremely appealing, funny actress with a great voice. Mix/belt.
Bea:
40s-50s. Jack’s mother. A manipulative, uncompromising fright of a woman. On her deathbed, she makes Jack promise to never get married. Seeking a very funny character actress with a great voice. Mix/belt.
Tony Rocky / Roy Bacon:
30s-40s. Tony: The ultimate Vegas lounge lizard. Slick and wonderfully insincere. Roy: Leader of the flying Elvises. Seeking a skilled comedic actor with a great voice. Bari/tenor.
Johnny Sandwich:
Early 40s up. Tommy’s right-hand man. Dutiful henchman. The only thing he loves more than gambling might be food. Large physical presence. Seeking a skilled comedic actor who sings well. Bari/tenor.
Tommy:
CAST. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary. 50s. High-stakes gambler pursuing Betsy. Handsome, charming and charismatic, but also slick, ruthless and underhanded. Role for a skilled comedic actor who sings well. Baritone.
