The producer will run all aspects of these calls. Equity audition procedures will NOT be in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided. Producer’s monitor starts sign-up one hour before the audition start time.
Please prepare to dance first. Wear clothing that shows off your body. Women, please have character shoes. Also, please prepare 16 bars from a song in the style of the show. Singing from the show is welcome. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.
Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
Callbacks are on Wednesday, January 26.

Female, late teens. Attractive, pleasantly plump. Strong-willed “rabble rouser” with a passion for dance and equality.
Penny Pingleton:
Late teens. Tracy's supportive, somewhat dorky best friend.
Link Larkin:
Male, late teens. Handsome teen heartthrob.
Corny Collins:
Over 30. Host of a 1960s TV dance show.
Seaweed J. Stubbs:
African American male, late teens. Charismatic. Dancer.
Amber Von Tussle:
Late teens. Bratty, spoiled princess who aspires to be a teen beauty-pageant queen.
Velma Von Tussle:
40s. Amber's scheming, pushy backstage mother who produces Corny Collins’s TV show.
Wilbur:
40s+. Tracy's quirky father. Owns a joke shop.
Little Inez:
African American girl, appears to be in early teens. Seaweed's little sister.
Female Authority Figure:
Characters are 30-45. Seeking versatile character actress with strong comedic timing to play a variety of great featured characters including Prudy Pingleton, Penny's overprotective and close-minded mother; Prison Matron, guarding the Big Doll House and Gym Teacher. Strong singer.
Male Authority Figure:
Characters are 30-50. Seeking versatile character actor with strong comedic timing to play a variety of great featured characters including Mr. Pinky, owner of the Hefty Hideaway; Mr. Spritzer, President of Ultra Clutch hairspray; Principal of Tracy's high school. Strong singer.
