Link Larkin:
Caucasian male, 18+ to play high school age. Clean cut, handsome and sexy heartthrob and star of local tv dance show. Tenor. Strong Dancer.
Motormouth Maybelle:
African-American female, 40s – 50s. A radio DJ and Queen of Baltimore soul music. Brassy, infectious personality with a strong, gospel singing voice. Mezzo with belt.
Wilbur Turnblad:
Caucasian male, 40s – 50s. Mischievous, comedic, character with a big heart and a knack for comedic timing. Tracy’s Father. Baritone
Female Authority Figure:
Caucasian female, 30s – 50s to play three character roles including: Prudy Pingleton: Penny’s holy rolling, high strung mother; The Gym Teacher: authoritative and masculine with a pension for showering with young girls; Prison Matron: authoritative and masculine with a pension for showering with young girls. Mezzo with belt.
The Dynamites:
Three African-American Females, 20s, a singing group reminiscent of The Supremes. Strong dancers and belters.
