Synopsis:
Alex is a photographer known for taking her subjects back through the tragedies they lived in their past. Prisons and war are her subjects secrets and her style is one of re-living. When she meets a former child soldier now living in Maryland her ethics and safety are brought into question as her artistic style is met with a trauma for which she may not be ready.

Seeking:

OKELLO JOHN- A refugee from Uganda who fought as a child soldier. He works now as a pizza delivery boy with a family that has taken him in for the time being. He is soft spoken and sensitive. Sweet and charming. However, he has dangerous secrets and an explosive temper that can be instigated with the subtlest triggers. He is young, 18-23.

ROBERTA “ROBBIE” CARMEL- A forty year old African American woman and ex convict. She met ALEX during a project in the prison while she served time, she now works as ALEX’S assistant. She has little family- her brother was recently incarcerated for armed robbery- and she is fighting for the custody of his child (and her niece) CHRISTINA. She is funny and no nonsense. A good heart- but she doesn’t suffer fools.

CHRISTINA CARMEL- Robbie's daughter. A teenager who has been bouncing between her family and foster care in the state of Maryland. She is frustrated, angry, sensitive and alone. She doesn’t trust adults and is drawn to many negative stereotypes of her generation (guns, drugs, gangs) that give a sense of power. This ultimately makes her susceptible to JOHN’S past.

ALEX MACGREGOR [CAST]- A white woman in her 30’s. Tough and uncompromising. Strong sense of humor and personal sense of awareness. She’s an emerging artist (photography) who has yet to break into ‘established artist’ status.

OFFICER JAMES MICHAELS [CAST]- a young member of the police force who has been assigned to work with CHRISTINA in a new Cops and Kids Initiative. His interest is more in becoming a big officer (ie. Big cases, big busts, big glory) than the day to day service work he does with CHRISTINA. He wants to prove himself- but can’t help but get connected to the kids he’s working with despite his ambitions.
