10 AM – Equity female dancers who sing well 519 Eighth Avenue, 12th Floor

2 PM – Equity male dancers who sing well New York City

Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Bring flat dance shoes/sneakers. Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of a pop or rock song. Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

Seeking:

Ensemble Dancers (M/F):

Strong movers who sing well. Cover principal roles (see EPA notice) and featured ensemble parts. Pas-de-deux and commercial style an advantage. Seeking an ethnic mix to play the wide variety of residents and characters of New York City.

Ensemble Singers (M/F):

Strong singers who move well. Cover principal roles (see EPA notice) and featured ensemble parts. Seeking an ethnic mix to play the wide variety of residents and characters of New York City.

Featured Ensemble characters include …

    Willie Lopez:

    Hispanic man, early 30s. A tough thug. Hired to mug Sam; ends up killing him.


    Clara Brown and Louise Brown:

    African American women, 30 and up. Oda Mae’s sisters, and cohorts in her scam of speaking to the dearly departed. Must have strong comic chops, be larger than life and have big soulful voices. Will understudy Oda Mae.


    Hospital Ghost:

    Male, 45-60, African American (or other ethnicity). Character part. Featured ensemble, tap dancer; should have strong voice and comedy.


    Subway Ghost:

    Male, late 20s/30s. Rapping skills would be an advantage. Nimble physicality with a martial arts background very useful. Ability to do any acro tricks an advantage – preferably a Capoeira expert.
