A very scientific princess meets a frog she is determined to turn into a prince with the assistance of a troupe of celestial Taoist Masters. In this saucy, swingin’ new musical, will Clementine get the Prince of her dreams - or will she find herself in bed with just another horny toad?
Ensemble Dancers:
20s – 40s. Dancers who sing/act, all ethnicities. Seeking dynamic performers who are versatile in many different techniques (must be confident with partnering), ‘swing’ sensibility and tap experience a plus. All performers should have capabilities for high-style language, physical agility, comic-timing and the ability to create dimensional characters without the aid of elaborate costume design, make-up or special effects.
Four Taoist Masters
Mixed ages and races (Taoist Masters gathered from the various races and corners of the Universe); 2 men, 2 women, jazz and do-wop skills required, as well as comic style. The Masters are our timeless and universal consciousness who weave a humorous contemporary viewpoint through the entire show, linking scenes and aiding the characters. Vocal description: skilled in harmonies, but with interesting individual voices.
Everyman, Everywoman
2 Men, 2 Women: appear variously as Peasants, Tao Maidens, Suitors, Frog Damselles, Courtiers. Men: 1 Baritone, 1 Tenor; Women: 1 Alto, 1 Soprano (both with belt capability)
