ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND TRAVEL FROM NYC.

ALL ACTORS ARE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS. Actor/ASMs are required to unload/load, setup and/or strike the set. No single piece of scenery shall exceed such proportions of height or weight as to make it impossible to be carries reasonably by two members of the company.

This is a musical. All characters sing and must be able to carry tight harmonies.

Seeking performers 18+.

Harriet:

African-American. 20s-early 30s. Young leading lady, high energy, a leader, a fighter, charismatic.

Rit:

African-American. 20s-30s; character woman. Play Harriet’s Mother, sister and other characters.

Ben:

African-American. 20s-30s; character man. Harriet's father. Also plays William Henry. Baritone, bass-baritone.

David:

African-American. 20s; energetic, rebellious juvenile, Harriet's brother. Baritone.

Overseer:

Caucasian man. 20s-30s; slave boss, “the heavy” character man, plays a series of overseers and slave catchers. Baritone/Bass.

Jacob:

Caucasian man. 20s-30s. Plays multiple roles including Jacob, strong leader of men. He's a Quaker, a friend of the slaves. Baritone.
