Equity auditions have already been held in Florida. The following roles remain available:
LEND ME A TENOR by Ken Ludwig. Dir: Chris Clavelli. 1st reh: 10/2/12. Runs 10/23–11/17.
30s. Hapless and bespectacled assistant to the Cleveland Grand Opera’s General Manager, and is about to have the worst night of his life. He is not well suited to stressful situations. Max is an aspiring opera singer, and the actor must be able to believably sing the scripted tenor arias. Actors should be prepared to sing at the audition, if asked, and may use the accompanist’s services if they wish.
THE LITTLE FOXES by Lillian Hellman. Dir: Maureen Heffernan. 1st reh: 12/11/12. Runs 1/1/13–1/26/13.
50s, African American. Tall and good-natured woman. The Giddens family’s trusted maid and housekeeper. Like a mother to Alexandra.
TIME STANDS STILL by Donald Margulies (rights pending). Dir: Chris Clavelli. 1st reh: 1/1/13. Runs 1/23–2/16.
25. Richard’s new girlfriend. Kind, big-hearted, effervescent young woman. An event planner. Not dumb or uneducated, but has a much less complex worldview than Sarah does.
MIRACLE ON SOUTH DIVISION STREET by Tom Dudzick. Dir: Robert Cacioppo. 1st reh: 1/15/13. Runs 2/5–3/2.
Mid 30s. Clara’s middle daughter. A bit gangly and awkward. Not the type men throw themselves at, but has a very appealing energy and spark about her. Ruth is an actress, and wants to move to New York City.
THE FANTASTICKS Music : Harvey Schmidt. Book/Lyrics: Tom Jones. Dir: Jason Parrish. 1st reh: 2/26/13. Runs 3/20–4/13.
The Girl. Romantic young idealist. Soprano, B – high B.
The Boy. Innocent and handsome young man. Baritone/tenor, A – high G.
EDUCATING RITA by Willy Russell. Dir: Chris Clavelli. 1st reh: 3/26/13. Runs 4/16– 5/5.
Note: This play takes place in Liverpool, 1980. Dialects will be used.
26. Very blunt, outspoken, brash, attractive young woman. A hairdresser. Out to change her humble circumstances with an education – and winds up changing her life as well as Frank’s.
