Please prepare 16 bars of a song. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose. Some may be asked to stay and read/present a monologue after all have sung. Please prepare a brief monologue.

Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Mordcha:

Middle-aged or older. The innkeeper. Full of life and humor. Shrewd businessman. Character look. Strong singer/mover.

Avram:

Middle-aged. Bookseller. Character look. Strong singer/mover.

Nachum:

Beggar. Poor, but accepts his lot with humor. Character look. Strong singer/mover.

Male Ensemble:

Dance captain. Doubles as Russian Soldier/Jew.

Shandel:

40ish. Motel’s protective mother. Good character singer/actress.
