Set in New England in the early 20th century, Daddy Long Legs is the story of an orphan girl, Jerusha, who is given an opportunity to have a college education by a mysterious benefactor whom she calls “Daddy Long Legs”. The only condition of this benefactor’s largesse is simple: Jerusha must write him a letter each week describing her life and studies at school, but must never expect a letter in reply.
Seeking:
Jerusha:
Female, early 20s. A poor girl, brought up in an orphanage with an internal glow. A clever, original thinker; wise beyond her years. Very adept at comedy. Killer alto with a pop sensibility.
Jervie:
Male, mid-30s. An East Coast aristocrat; extremely charming, likable and funny. Tall and good looking with a constant smile in the corner of his eyes. Excellent high baritone/tenor.
