War rages abroad. Back home, in Ithaca, Telemachus waits for his father’s return, and Penelope copes with a revolving door of suitors. A gripping, modern take on The Odyssey, Crown of Shadows uses contemporary language and leanings to paint a chilling portrait of the family the warrior leaves behind.
SEEKING:
Telemachus:
(Actor must be at least 18 to play late teens. *Can be early/mid 20s, etc., as long as actor reads late teens) A smart, moody, disenfranchised modern youth who happens to be the King’s son. Begins the play as a weak, isolated loner but grows into a calculating and opportunistic monarch-in-training. Physically unimpressive, weak, scrawny. Mentally and verbally sharp and tough. A tour de force role for a young actor.
