COMEDY IN THE AFTERNOON – Equity Principal Auditions

Comedy In The Afternoon, a Revue in One Act with music and dance accompaniment, is casting for two replacement actors.
Paid rehearsal work begins April 9, 2013 with show opening May 2, 2013. There are seven Equity work weeks involved; three rehearsal and four performance weeks.
Show will also have one Equity Stage Reading Saturday March 16, 2013 with four rehearsals (March 5,7,12,14). Stage Reading Rehearsals and Reading will be in Manhattan (Only subway fare paid for Stage Reading). All paid contract work is in Garrison NY, 10524. No housing available but round trip transportation by train from Grand Central will be covered. All work during early-mid afternoon hours. No evening rehearsals or performances. Only those actors willing to commit to entire schedule of rehearsals and performances and are willing to commute to Garrison NY should attend.
Seeking:
Woman For All Ages:
Woman, 40s, must be proficient in French but doesn’t have to be fluent. Must be able to translate a portion of her lines from English into French and sound authentic. Also proficient with German accent and able to mimic Michelle Bachman. Needs to be proficient in voice over work; a portion of the role is narration.
Woman Of Experience and International Woman of Strength:
Woman, 40s. 1 actress to play both roles:
- Woman of Experience: Sophisticated world traveler, wife, mother. Loves to shop at consignment stores even though she can afford to patronize Saks and Bergdorf’s.
- International Woman of Strength: A powerful presence. Lived during Elizabethan times but has returned to earth to perform. Opens show in the spirit of the great Circus ringmasters. Needs to be proficient in voice over work; a portion of the role is narration.
Young Woman #1:
Latina, 20s. Perky but impertinent assistant to the International Woman of Strength. Also proficient with Mexican accent and able to debate Michelle Bachman character.
