James:

Man, late 50s – early 60s, Marty’s husband. Grew up an Army brat. Spent his college years in CA, in the sixties. Free spirit. Has a grown daughter he is not close to, but wishes he were. Comes from a family of alcoholics, and has a fear of becoming his father. Represses this. His initial connection to Marty was strong. Must be charismatic.

Schultz:

Man, late 40s – carpenter and furniture artisan (specifically, chairs). From Maryland, Newly divorced, attracted to Theresa. Soft on the edges. Sincere, nice guy.
