To be considered for both Musicals and Non-Musicals, audition when accompanist is present. A cappellasinging is not allowed.

This is a new script which explores what happened to The Crucible’s Abigail Williams 10 years after the infamous witch trials.

HERBERT NIRLINGER - Older husband of Phyllis. Well-to-do, driven & in his 50s
BARTON KEYES - Long-time employee & colleague of Walter’s. Friend/father figure to Walter. Obsessive, determined, instinctive. A company man with a soul. Male, 50s.
NINO SACHETTI (daughter’s boyfriend) / JACKSON (train passenger) / MR. NORTON (owner of the insurance company Walter works for) – 30s to mid 40s
Female:
PHYLLIS NIRLINGER - Much younger wife of Herbert Nirlinger, beautiful, seductive, duplicitous female. (Barbara Stanwyck role in the film.) late 20s – mid 30s.
LOLA NIRLINGER – Phyllis’ stepdaughter. Pretty, flirtatious, naïve, sweet. Youthfully self-absorbed. Late teens to early 20s. Will also play Nettie, the secretary, in the Cincinnati run.

TEE-TOT – Black south Alabama street singer of indeterminate age. Must play piano & Other instruments TBD
HOSS – Member of Hank’s band The Drifting Cowboys. Big, boyish, about Hank’s age. Must play upright bass.
JIMMY (BURRHEAD) - Member of Hank’s band. From Oklahoma, especially in speech. Must play lead electric guitar.
LEON (LOUDMOUTH) – Member of Hank’s band and a skillfull musician on many instruments, featured on the fiddle. Pleasant and taciturn.
FRED ROSE (PAP) – A founder and executive of a Nashville music publishing company. A Midwesterner from Chicago. Non-singing role.
Female:
THE WAITRESS – The keeper of an all-night diner somewhere in the south. A cheerful, lonely person. Non-singing role.
MAMA LILLY – Hank’s mother. A “Marjorie Main” – strong and somewhat overbearing. Singer.
AUDREY WILLIAMS – Hank’s first wife, later his professional widow. A blond Alabama beauty, sweet, exuberant, sure. Singing role, but she’s not a good singer.
WE WILL NOT BE LOOKING AT MUSICIANSHIP AT THIS AUDITION.

LEVELING UP by Deborah Zoe Laufer; directed by Wendy Goldberg
1st rehearsal 1/11/13; runs 2/9/13–3/10/13
This is a new script about four 20-somethings struggle to transition from college to a “real” life that is rarely spent outside the glare of a video game monitor. This thought-provoking, often humorous world premiere focuses on a generation straddling the fuzzy line between reality and virtual reality.

IAN – Awesome gamer – Nevada State champ. A bit of a nerd. Very bright.
CHUCK – Ian’s roommate. All around good guy.
ZANDER – Ian’s other roommate. Very good looking. A bit of a wheeler dealer.

JEANNIE – Zander’s girlfriend. Very sweet and innocent. Excellent student.

THE BOOK CLUB PLAY by Karen Zacarías; directed by Blake Robison

ROB – 30s. Ana’s Husband, handsome, charismatic under-achiever who is starting to search for meaning. Upper Crust background.
WILL – 30s. Rob’s conservative, well read, well dressed, disciplined college roommate. Ana’s former boyfriend. History buff. Unmarried.
ALEX – 30s. The New Guy. A very smart, well-read academic who has lost his moorings and is searching for real connection. Professor of Comparative Literature.
Female:
ANA – 30s. Pronounced “Ah-nuh.” Beautiful. Charming. Smart. Accomplished. Organized. A columnist for a Daily paper, The Mother Bee. Her grace masks a need to control.
JEN – 30s. Ana’s friend. Pretty. Shy. Smart. Tends to burst out with awkward truthful comments. Despite some lack of self-confidence, she is the grounding center of the
group. Unorganized and oblivious to her own attractiveness. Unmarried.
LILY – 20s. A go-getter, former debate captain who is on the cusp of all
current trends and yet can still put her foot in her mouth in social occasions. Laughs
at appropriate and inappropriate times. A great lover of books and Ana’s protégé at the paper.
Non-Gender specific Role:
PUNDIT – 30’s to 50’s. Plays several roles: Mrs. Simpson(retired Librarian), Sam (the Wal-Mart guy), Frank (Secret Service Agent), Elsa (jaded Literary Agent), Dawn (a doctor), Carl (Book Dealer)

SHIPWRECKED! AN ENTERTAINMENT: The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as Told by Himself) by Donald Margulies; directed by Brendon Fox

LOUIS DE ROUGEMONT - 30s–40s, a would-be explorer who embarks from Victorian England on a daring expedition only to find himself marooned on a desert island. Or did he?

Gunda (a tribal chief and father to Yamba), Bobo (Yamba’s brother), A Society Lady,
An Austrialian Prospector, Albert (a boy), Queen Victoria, among others.

PLAYER #1 - indeterminate age. Plays various roles including: Louis’s Mother, Captain Jensen, Yamba (an Aborigine princess and later Louis’s wife), Fitzgerald (a magazine editor), An Octopus Expert, among others.
