Chautauqua, NY U/RTA ($743/week minimum) and LOA (for AMADEUS only; expected weekly minimum: approx. $700).

Lunch from 1 – 2. New York City

Please prepare a short monologue from post-1900 material. Please have a second, contrasting piece ready if asked.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

The following available roles in the 2011 season are being considered for Equity contracts. They are the only roles for which actors are sought at this time:

Amadeus by Peter Shaffer. Dir: Vivienne Benesch. 1st reh: 5/2/11. Rehearses in NYC until 5/15. Final week of rehearsals in Norfolk VA. Runs in Norfolk 5/20-5/22. Special performance, with symphony. Letter of Agreement (LOA) Contract.

Joseph II:

50s. The brother of Marie Antoinette. An “adorer of music — provided that it made no demands upon the royal brain”. Unfortunately, Mozart’s music often demands too much of him.

THREE SISTERS by Anton Chekhov. Dir: Brian Mertes. 1st reh: 6/13/11. Runs 7/7-7/17. U/RTA Contract.

Anfisa:

Woman, over 60. Nurse to the Prozorov family.

Fyodor Ilyich Kulygin:

Man, 50s. Masha's much older husband. Teacher at the high school.

Ivan Romanovich Chebutykin:

Man, 60s. Army doctor. The eccentric family friend who, while drunk, reveals all about Natasha and Protopopov's affair.

LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST by William Shakespeare. Dir: Ethan McSweeny. 1st reh: 7/19/11. Runs 8/10-8/19. U/RTA Contract.

Note: These two provide the “learned commentary” on the letters of the other characters.

Sir Nathaniel:

50s. The curate.

Holofernes:

Man, 50s. The know-it-all schoolmaster.

Theatre’s statement: “Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.”
