Sign-up begins at audition at 3:30 PM. New York City
MODIFIED Equity Chorus Call procedures are in effect.
NO Equity Member sign-up list will be posted at the AEA Audition Center. Sign-up will begin at the audition’s holding room at 3:30 PM. In order to be guaranteed of being seen, Equity Members must check in with the Equity Monitor no later than 4 PM. Bring your current, paid-up Equity card.
After all AEA Members have finished their individual auditions (i.e. after the Equity Chorus Call is over), they will participate in a post-ECC group audition, in which non-Equity performers may also participate. This portion of the audition will consist of singing and group improvisation.
If auditioning for Michael, please prepare a brief, comedic or up-tempo song that shows personality. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided. Also please bring tap shoes, if you have them.
Those auditioning for Small Boy need not prepare anything for the audition.
All should bring a recent picture and resume, stapled back-to-back.
Seeking the following positions only at this call, for possible future replacements in the current SETA tour. Note: This call is for children only. Equity calls for adult roles and chorus positions are held separately by another casting office.
Michael:
Principal character. Age 9 – 12, any ethnicity. Maximum height 4’10’’. Billy's friend. Funny, not eager to please, a real kid. Seeking a natural actor with a strong, unbroken singing voice. Tap a plus.
Small Boy:
Age 5–7, any ethnicity. Height should be 3’7”. Ensemble character. Boy in Billy's town. Endearing, natural, real. Requirements: Ability to listen on stage, take direction, concentrate, not fidget. Not a “showbiz” kid.
