1st rehearsal (Cincinnati): 4/19/11. Runs: 4/29 – 5/21/11.

NYC auditions will be held November 17 – 19, by appointment only.

This is an ensemble show and the actresses play many roles. Great voices, humor and movement abilities a must. Those cast must do both engagements of this co-production.

Narrator/Wanda:

African American, 25-35. This character guides the audience through the 60’s from the Girl Groups to Janis Joplin. Strong, humorous, personable. Must be comfortable talking to the audience. Needs good acting chops as well as be a strong singer. Charismatic and a lot of fun Vocal quality—belt with mix.

Alison:

Caucasian, 20-30. The warmest voice of the group. The gritty one. Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Janis Ian. Perky, and sunny. Vocal quality—soprano with mix.

Jasmine:

African American, 20-30. Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Annette Funicello. Bright, sexy. Vocal quality—soprano/mix.

Pattie:

Caucasian, 20-30. Leslie Gore, Dusty Springfield, Aretha duo. The “bad girl” of the 60s. Big belt/mix—wide range.

Gina:

African American, 25-35. Tina Turner. Sexy, excellent dancer/singer. Big belt and mix.

Laura:

Caucasian, 25-35. Lulu, Janis Joplin. Janis Joplin says it all. Big belt.
