Anthem is a new stage adaptation by Jeff Britting of Ayn Rand’s best selling short novel. In a dark totalitarian future, one individual reignites the world with the rediscovery of one forbidden word.
SEEKING:
EQUALITY 7-2521
Early–mid 20s Male.open ethnicity, a young man, highly intelligent and spontaneous, heroic. At the beginning of the story he finds himself seeking knowledge that is forbidden in his totalitarian world. He is a man of ingenuity who is unafraid of conflict.
LIBERTY 5-3000
Late teens to early 20s, Female, open ethnicity, the young woman who is his match. She is utterly feminine, seemingly fragile but is willing to battle the world for her love and to life the life she wants.
INTERNATIONAL
Early- mid 30s, Male, open ethnicity, character man ranges from best friend who is reluctant to defy his government but wants to protect his friend at all costs; this actor will also play a number of cruel weak omnipresent officials.
