Mark envelopes: A DEVIL AT NOON/AEA MEMBER
Synopsis:
Chet writes science fiction. His book is going well, but his magnets no longer adhere to the refrigerator, there's that ant problem, and the young woman who popped up on his doorstep won't tell him her last name. Washburn's tantalizingly trippy play explores the addiction, power, and danger of dwelling in the imagination.
Seeking:
Chet Ellis:
Male 50s. A writer of science fiction, based on Philip K dick. Alert, very intelligent, articulate. An off beat intellect, but not a typical nerdy Sci-Fi writer. Charismatic, sexually attractive in a brainy professorial way. A past/maybe present with drug use.
Bob Seward / Moon Man:
Male 60s. Powerful executive of major corporation. Genial, avuncular, even donnish in his affect, but able to be very powerful. Wears bow tie. Also plays Moon Man
Tom/Don Larkin:
Male 40s. Rogue Private investigator/important business executive. Capable, verbal, intelligent, powerful. Able to be funny.
Dennis/Phillip Hutchens:
Male 30s. Private investigator/junior important business executive. Capable, thoughtful, intelligent. Able to be funny.
Colin/Alien Guy:
Male, 20s. Eager young recruit of Powerful Corporation/record Store clerk. Tense, ambitious, capable, a little eager
