Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Note: Equity Chorus Call procedures ARE in effect. However, this is an added, non-required audition; required auditions were previously held in Chicago.

Salary/housing note: This production will have a Chicago point of origin. Actors residing outside a 70 mile radius of Chicago will receive $50/day during rehearsals for Actors housing and living expenses. Actor must declare residence at the time of Actor’s audition. For the Tech Week in Hershey, PA and all performance weeks including Chicago, Actor may chose to receive $86/day and provide their own housing, OR $42/day and be provided a single room accommodation, OR $52/day and share a room.

For Chicago based Actors: In all cities except Chicago (ie. Hershey, Detroit, Raleigh, and Tampa), the performer may chose to receive $86/day and provide their own housing, OR $42/day and be provided a single room accommodation, OR $52/day and share a room.

This classic holiday tale centers on a mischievous, bespectacled boy, Ralphie, who dreams of getting a BB-gun for Christmas. In the weeks before the big holiday, Ralphie, his friends and his family get into all kinds of situations— including run-ins with a bully with “yellow eyes,” a tongue stuck to lamp post, a bar of soap in the mouth, a garish leg lamp, a major award and a Chinese Christmas dinner. Based on the humorist Jean Shepherd’s novel “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash,” this is a Tribute to the Original, Traditional, One-Hundred-Percent, Red-Blooded, Two-Fisted, All-American Christmas.

Casting Director’s Note: For the following roles, we are putting together an ensemble to play a variety of characters such as townspeople, shop keepers, parents, Miss Shields, Santa Clause, neighbors, characters in Ralphie’s fantasies, etc. We want to create an interesting, multiracial, off-beat, interesting, quirky group of talented actors to match this wonderful, wacky, quirky world. Looking for all shapes and sizes. All must exude personality, warmth, and be tremendously talented. Seeking great singer/dancers who can act. ALL ETHNICITIES. Tap skills are necessary.

This score requires 13 strong ensemble singers who have bright, present, contemporary voices that can run the gamut from contemporary musical theatre chorus voice to legit, choral voice. (It is crucial that these singers are able to sing tight harmonies at the top of their registers with and without vibrato.)
