Seeking:

[CASSIE] Female, 31 – A brilliant, stand-out dancer who acquired a reputation in featured roles in two Broadway shows. Cassie now needs a job. She went out to California, did bit roles, and nothing happened for her. She now wants to start over again and be given the chance to do the only thing that means anything to her. Zach tells her she is incapable of dancing like everybody else, but she insists on putting herself on his line; despite her past relationship with him. Must sing well.

[DIANA] Female, 27- Latin. Energetic, upbeat personality. Major singer with a belt/chest mix. Sings “Nothing” & “What I Did For Love.”

[SHEILA] Female, 29 – A knockout real woman who is comfortable with her sexuality to the point where she has an ironic/dry sense of humor about herself, the fact she’s almost 30, and the “audition”. Not cynical or bitter in any way. A major dancer. Must sing well.

[VAL] Female, 25 – Cute, pert, & sassy. Val knows what she wants and will do whatever she needs too to get it. Must sing well. Sings “Dance Ten, Looks Three.”

[KRISTINE] Female, 22 -Pretty, major dancer. MUST SING. Should have an outgoing, charming, slightly dizzy personality but becomes very insecure when asked to sing – her major weakness.

[BEBE] Female, 26 - Jewish, real comic actress and singer. Bebe was told by her mother that she was"different" looking and she looked to ballet to make her beautiful.

[JUDY] Female, 28 - Tall, thin comic actress. Pretty, funny, scattered. Sings well.

[CONNIE] Female, 32 – Asian. Connie never grew tall enough to be a ballerina, but she has not stopped working since she was 5. Has a very positive attitude about life. Sings well.

[MAGGIE], Female, 25 - Sweet, all American girl next door. Maggie hails from a troubled home, and took solace in her fantasy life. Must be a major singer with a pure belt to E above middle C.

[ZACH] Male, 29 – 35 - A charismatic , controlling, manipulative, calculated but brilliant Broadway director/ choreographer. Strong, intuitive, and powerful. He seems always to be in complete control, even when facing his personal relationship with Cassie, or the emotional needs and responses of his dancers. Must dance & sing.

[PAUL] Male, 28 - Puerto Rican. Paul is shy & suffers from the indignities of his past. Must be a fantastic dancer/actor who can convey true vulnerability. Sings well.

[MIKE] Male, 24 – Italian, short, and was first exposed to dance when he tagged along to his sister's dance class. Must sing extremely well. Tumbling a plus.

[BOBBY] Male, 25 - Zestful, funny, & attractive. Bobby spent his childhood being odd as a way to get attention. He now embraces his off beat world view. Sings well.

[AL] Male, 30 - Al is Kristine's husband, far more relaxed than his wife is. From a working class background. Must sing well.

[RICHIE] Male, 27 - Is African American. Energetic, charismatic, shorter is better. Must sing very well.

[MARK] Male, 20 - A good-looking, innocent, all American kid. Needs real charm, naiveté, and appeal. Must be a major dancer and a singer.

[GREG] Male, 32 - Describes himself as"very East Side", realized as a teenager that he was a homosexual. Very droll and witty. Major dancer and singer.

[DON] Male, 26 - All-American guy. Midwestern. Appealing. Sings well.

[LARRY] Male, 27 - Zack?s long time assistant. Bright, helpful, confident, handsome. Major Dancer. Sings well.
