Please prepare a brief (preferably 3-minute), contemporary monologue.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Place: The break room of a Hobby Lobby in Boise, Idaho. A disgraced evangelical from rural, northern Idaho takes a minimum-wage job at a Hobby Lobby craft store to re-unite with his estranged son.

Seeking (all roles available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted)):

Will:

Late 30s. Alex’s biological father. Quiet, nice. Lost in the world, and searching for something new.

Pauline:

Late 30s - 40s. Manager of the Hobby Lobby. Type-A personality. Keeps the store organized and working efficiently.

Anna:

Late 20s - 30s. Quiet. Finds solace from the outside world in her books.

Leroy:

Early - mid 20s. Rebel artist. Not happy with his life in a small town. Fiercely protective of his younger brother Alex.

Alex:

17. Will’s estranged son, a teenager struggling to understand how he fits into society and his small town.

Video Recording (Men):

Two retail employees who discuss the craft supplies sold at the Hobby Lobby. Actors appear in a video recording only (do not act live on stage).
