Matrix Theatre Company presents Collected Stories by Donald Margulies, the final play for its 2014 main stage season on Friday, February 21 through Sunday, March 16. The play explores the relationship between Ruth, a renowned writer and college professor, and Lisa, Ruth's student and protégé. As Lisa grows as a writer and eventually becomes Ruth's colleague, she publishes a novel that threatens their relationship and poses a major ethical question regarding creative freedom. Is it ethical to use information shared in intimate conversations for your own literary work, or are you plagiarizing someone else's life? This play debates questions regarding creative license in a thought provoking way and lets the audience decide for itself.

The show runs from Friday, February 21 through Sunday, March 16. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 pm, with Sunday performances at 3 pm. All productions are presented at Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of Detroit's Mexicantown. Ticket prices are $20 for general admission and $15 for students and senior citizens (65+) with proper ID. Group rates are available. For further information, and to purchase tickets, call 313 967 0599, or go to www.matrixtheatre.org.

"This play is fantastic, and we have a great cast that will do justice to this production," said director Molly McMahon." In some ways, it reminds me of what Detroit has experienced. Much to our chagrin, the media is allowed to tell our story however they choose, even if the final product is more fiction than reality, much like Lisa told Ruth's story."

Katie Lietz who plays Lisa received her BFA in acting from Wayne State University in 2010 and is currently back at Wayne working on a second bachelor's degree in mathematics with a concentration in actuarial science. She was most recently seen as Amy in Company, and has performed in numerous other productions including

Estrada in Pippin, and Adriana in A Comedy of Errors. Linda Rabin Hammell who plays Ruth, last appeared with Matrix in 2008's To Kill a Mockingbird. Both women are excited to be performing at Matrix in this thought provoking play.
