The Berman Center for the Performing Arts will welcome the Koresh Dance Company with its performance called Classic Koresh at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Tickets (starting at $33) are on sale now at theberman.org.
Classic Koresh presents a selection of favorites from the company's 25-year history, including interpretations of compositions by Bach, Beethoven and Ravel. The company is known for its breathtaking performances and technically superb dancers who perform on tour all around the country. Moments of tenderness and grace alternate with humor and brash force in an evening that features highlights drawn from more than 60 works by Artistic Director Ronen Koresh.
Also included is the newly commissioned "23: Deconstructing Mozart," a collaborative initiative driven by Koresh and multi-media artist Paul Miller, aka DJ Spooky. As the dancers move through this stunning allegro, impressive athleticism and compelling choreography appear front and center in timeless works. "Those of us who critique the arts go wild with delight when an artist we've been watching for many years creates a work that transcends all he has done before," said the Philadelphia Inquirer.
To purchase tickets, visit The Berman from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, or call 248.661.1900. To purchase tickets 24 hours a day visit theberman.org.
