PDR Voice-Over Coaching
Learn what it takes to begin and maintain a career in voice overs. We’ll cover microphone technique, terminology and script breakdown, giving you the ability to prepare for auditions on a professional level. You’ll explore how to use your voice as an instrument to explore the rhythms and pacing of commercial copy, resulting in a real, intuitive “read.” Peter will work with you during Weeks 1-3 to help you develop and hone your voice-over skills from the ground up. In Week 4, you’ll showcase your progress for a special industry guest and discuss your future as a voice over artist. Peter also coaches a small roster of clients privately Monday—Thursday between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM and most clients schedule weekly one-hour sessions. As you may already know, Peter is an active voice over artist himself, so his schedule may vary from week to week. Peter’s Associate Coach and Studio Manager Rick Murphy, works with clients in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Once clients are ready to record and produce their demos, Peter becomes an integral part of that recording and production process.

Voice Over work is a revenue stream for actors that is as strong as ever right now. For actors looking to get into the industry, Eamonn offers an affordable, no frills, VO demo creation service. A demo is simply a tool for getting work in this particular market, much like a headshot is for stage and film. For a flat fee of $300 for a commercial demo, Eamonn will: Consult with you via telephone about what you're looking to do and discuss the timeframe. Select a variety of effective copy for you and help you find your own copy. Schedule a recording session at his studio where he will guide you through the copy, helping you to get comfortable with the microphone and the material and then record as many takes of each of the spots as is necessary to get the perfect take. Select and process the final takes, adding sound effects and music as necessary and send you an mp3 draft of the demo (usually around one minute for a standard commercial demo). Weist-Barron-Hill Voice-Over Workshop
This workshop helps those with good or unusual voices learn the very special requirements of voice-over work for commercials and other important voice-over opportunities. Emphasis is placed on the actor's individual style in preparation for making an excellent demo tape that will command the attention of agents and casting directors. A special voice-over textbook and one-on-one semi-private sessions are features of this workshop, which meets for one and one half hours once a week for ten weeks.
