Subject: "Sex and the City" Composer & NY Native Scores Emmy Nomination for New "Hybrid" Production?
To: david@broadwayworld.com

Hi David,

Happy Thursday! Brenda here reaching out you to see if you had a chance to review and consider our Emmy nominee and native New Yorker Bob Christianson for possible coverage?

As you know, the Emmy Awards are around the corner and we have a nominee ideal for the local audience. Christianson is nothing if not versatile. He was responsible for the pulsating music that accompanied episodes about several energetic New York women HBO's acclaimed "Sex and the City." Now he's back with a new "passion" project that just earned him another Emmy nomination!

Christianson, has created a new musical format, a captivating blend of Broadway show, symphonic concert, and film score, for his production of the WTTW-PBS Special, A Christmas Carol - The Concert. This break-through concert event has garnered Christianson a 2014 Emmy nomination for the song, "No Trouble." Unlike the other nominees in his category who are nominated for upbeat and comedic performances, "No Trouble" is the only song that sends a profound message that tugs at the heart strings.

As composer, arranger and executive producer of A Christmas Carol - The Concert, Christianson created an exceptional work performed with a full symphony orchestra; a large choir; a rock/pop rhythm section, and four singer/actors.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE CONCERT is a unique musical event - the first time Charles Dickens' popular 1843 novel has been adapted for a live orchestral concert with choir and soloists, and performed for audiences in a concert setting. This 90-minute television special was produced by HMS Media, and is presented nationally by WTTW National Productions, Chicago. Executive Producer is Bob Christianson.

The score, composed by Bob Christianson, recalls Broadway classics such as Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera, and is filled with memorable, haunting and rousing songs. It includes musical styles that range from classical to Broadway to blues and gospel. The story, faithfully adapted by Broadway's Alisa Hauser, is performed by leading stars from the Chicago and New York theater world, including Michael Aaron Lindner (Ebenezer Scrooge), E. Faye Butler (Narrator), Scott Coulter (Fred/Bob Cratchit), Kyle Scatliffe (Marley/The Ghosts), and Arya Daire (Belle)

This mom and pop production, a three-year labor of love, has become one of the highlights of Christianson's career. The song, "No Trouble" (music by Christianson and lyrics by Alisa Hauser), has earned the duo a nomination the category of Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics - 2014.

The track is a heartfelt ballad, sung by Bob Cratchit (Scott Coulter) right after Tiny Tim dies; it touches your heart and takes you on a journey of emotions. The piece truly depicts the power of Charles Dicken's words, even 200 years after his death.
