The second annual Greenwich Village Film Festival is selling out at a rapid pace after much buzz and excitement generated from industry and neighbors at last year's inaugural festival. A truly independent festival in spirit it has grown from a one night event to three and it can certainly attest that it does indeed "take a village" to produce such a community endeavor.
Created by two Italian filmmakers Antonio Padovan and Alessia Gatti, they call the village home and after creating several award winning films with the village as a backdrop they knew it needed a place for the community to see themselves and their world reflected on the big screen. With the success of last year's festival, the team has expanded. In addition to them the festival team is joined by producers Richard Weigle and Michael Anastasio both deeply imbedded in the community and a significant collaborator securing such venues as 49 Grove, AOC, and Pagani for THE AFTER parties. Lydia Darly and Martha Frances Williams will also assist in the production this year.
"CELEBRATE GREENWICH VILLAGE THROUGH FILM"- The GVFF opens at 7pm on Monday, October 24th and runs through Wednesday, October 26th at Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014 . For more information to purchase tickets visit: www.greenwichvillagefilmfestival.com
