NY WILD FILM FESTIVAL Returns to Explorers Club Headquarters

Sponsored by National Geographic, The University of Miami, Exploration Science and Wildlife Conservation Society, The New York WILD Film Festival will be held January 28-31, 2016 at the historic Explorers Club Headquarters in New York City. The event, founded by Nancy Rosenthal, Executive Director, spotlights films in the exploration, adventure, wildlife and environmental genres. This year, director Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) will receive an award for his documentary What's Motivating Hayes. NY WILD will feature film screenings, audience Q & A's, panel discussions, receptions and award presentations.

Selected Film Highlights
What's Motivating Hayes -- A documentary by Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) about biologist turned investigator Tyrone Hayes.
Meru -- Three friends battle their inner demons and nature's harshest elements in an attempt to climb the most dangerous peak in the Himalayas. Shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary.
Warlords of Ivory -- Investigative journalist Bryan Christy sets out on a groundbreaking mission to expose how the ivory trade funds some of Africa's most notorious militias and terrorist groups.
Unbranded -- In the spirit of true adventure, four men and 16 wild mustangs set off on a 5000 kilometre journey across the American West.
