NBC Deportes announced the roster of on-air talent that will deliver to soccer fans the thrills, passion and emotions from each of the FIFA events that Telemundo Network, NBC UNIVERSO and NBCDeportes.com will broadcast in 2015, including the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand and FIFA Women's World Cup Canada™. Award-winning and iconic soccer narrator Andrés Cantor will anchor an impressive team of veteran and burgeoning sportscasters and contributors that includes Carlos Hermosillo, Sammy Sadovnik, Manuel Sol, Frederik Oldenburg, Ana Jurka, Leti Coo, Kaziro Aoyama, Francisco Cuevas, Daniela Rodríguez, Pablo Aguabella and new team members Copán Álvarez and Andrea Rodebaugh.
Emmy® Award-winner Andrés Cantor is the only US based and Spanish-language soccer commentator to have been included in the official FIFA magazine's list of the world's top soccer commentators. Sitting next to him in the booth for the FIFA events will be the three other broadcasters who also currently provide the play-by-play and color commentary for Premier League and Liga MX soccer that airs on both
Telemundo and
NBC UNIVERSO. They are Carlos Hermosillo, a former FIFA World Cup player and three-time top scorer for the Mexican League; Sammy Sadovnik, a heralded play-by-play announcer and veteran FIFA World Cup analyst; and Manuel Sol, a former Mexican national soccer player and Olympian. Joining
NBC Deportes for the first time will be Copán Álvarez, an experienced sports journalist and commentator who has covered soccer in his native Honduras as well as Argentina and Mexico, including major tournaments such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.™ Former Mexican Women's National Team player and FIFA consultant, Andrea Rodebaugh, will join the talent roster to provide commentary and analysis for the main FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ matches. Frederik Oldenburg from
Telemundo Las Vegas (KBLR) will also contribute to the broadcast team to provide insights, analysis and prognostications. Most matches will be called by teams of two formed by Cantor and Hermosillo, Sadovnik and Sol, and Alvarez and Oldenburg.
TELEMUNDO and
NBC UNIVERSO will also have a team of correspondents and contributors who will cover the games, deliver heart-warming human interest stories on players, nations and venues, and offer pre- and post-game analyses throughout this summer of soccer. They include Ana Jurka, a journalist and sports commentator currently co-hosting "Titulares Telemundo" on
Telemundo and "Escena Deportiva" on
NBC UNIVERSO; Leti Coo, host of "Ritmo Deportivo" on TELEMUNDO; Francisco Cuevas, a former news correspondent for TELEMUNDO, who has covered global sports events including both the 2008 Bejing and 2012 London Olympic games; pitch reporter Kaziro Aoyama, known for his in-field commentary during Liga MX matches; sports journalist Daniela Rodríguez, and Costa Rican journalist Pablo Aguabella.
All the games for each of the four FIFA events will air live on
Telemundo and
NBC UNIVERSO, and will also be available on
NBC Deportes EN VIVO EXTRA digital platforms.
TELEMUNDO and
NBC UNIVERSO will air the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 (May 29 through June 19); the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ (June 6-July 5); the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 (July 9-19); and the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 (Oct. 17-Nov. 8).
