msnbc.com has launched a new initiative, "Women of 2014," providing the primary destination for the most robust coverage of women candidates and women's issues. Updated daily, the series features innovative reporting on impactful women candidates from all political parties who seek Senate and House seats, governorships, and the presidency, as well as the rising stars behind the scenes.

There are currently 99 women serving in Congress, the most in U.S. history. In 2014 that number could surge, as some of the most consequential Senate races feature key female candidates from both political parties. "Women of 2014" will chronicle this important moment in HISTORY by fully integrating MSNBC's pool of on air and digital talent. This new section will include broadcast interviews, in depth profiles, photo slideshows, interactive graphics, digital chats with the msnbc.com community, and much more.

"Women of 2014" presents the msnbc.com audience with a central place for unparalleled access to the people, ideas, and conversations shaping the key issues of 2014. Melissa Harris-Perry kicked off the series on her Sunday (noon-2p ET) show with msnbc.com reporters Irin Carmon, Suzy Khimm, and Meredith Clark. The video can be seen at the new "Women of 2014" page: http://women2014.msnbc.com. The official Twitter hashtag is #women2014.
