In View, a national educational TV series hosted by broadcast icon Larry King, will feature Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV) in an upcoming episode. The 30-minute television show will detail how HHV has helped millions of veterans recover through the healing power of art therapy. The program will air on Fox Business Network on Saturday, July 11 th at 5:00 p.m., EDT.
For more than 40 years, HHV, a nonprofit organization founded during the Vietnam War, has supplied arts and crafts kits free of charge to injured servicemen and women and U.S. veterans. The kits often become a part of the patient's treatment plan, giving them a creative outlet for stress and boredom, and a way to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem as they complete art projects.
"We are honored to be recognized for the GOOD WORK we are doing to help veterans recover," said John M. Meagher, Judge (Retired), Chairman of the HHV Board of Directors. "Art therapy is proven to help veterans recover. We want to get the word out to as many people as possible that help is available. Being featured on this prominent show will help us accomplish that goal."
Help Hospitalized Veterans has distributed more than 29 million kits since 1971 including woodworking, leather, models, and a variety of needle crafts, among many others.
