Laila Robins Joins HBO's THE MONEY

Frequent theatrical headliner Laila Robins is set for a featured role on the new HBO drama series THE MONEY, joining recently announced stars Patrick Kennedy, Dominique McElligott and Brendan Gleeson.

THE MONEY was created by previous HBO series DEADWOOD, JOHN FROM CINCINNATI and LUCK scribe David Milch, with the pilot set to be directed by Justin Chadwick.

Robins is set to play the part of matriarch of the corrupt crime family led by powerful mogul James Castman (Gleeson), Katharine Castman - mother to three adult children (including Kennedy and McElligott), all of whom will figure into the sophisticated adult drama.

THE MONEY is set to start shooting soon. No further details have yet been made available at this time.

Robins previously appeared on Broadway in numerous productions, most recently the 2006 revival of HEARTBREAK HOUSE, with other appearances including FROZEN, THE HERBAL BED and THE REAL THING. Additionally, Robins has starred in many notable Off-Broadway and regional theatrical properties, such as SORE THROATS, MRS. KLEIN, BURNT PIANO and THE FILM SOCIETY, as well as the 50th anniversary production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA at the Guthrie Theater, TINY ALICE with Richard Thomas, plus MACBETH, THREE SISTERS and THE CHERRY ORCHARD at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and many more.
