In 2013, Discovery Kids is gearing up to premiere the brand new animated preschool series DOKI, based on the wildly popular character for Discovery Kids Latin America. DOKI began his television career as an animated character on Discovery Kids, Latin America's 24-hour pre-school channel dedicated to the youngest members of the household. Now, as the star of this much-anticipated new series, viewers will follow DOKI and his friends as they embark on fascinating expeditions to discover the wonders of the world.

"Giving DOKI and his friends their own series speaks to the overwhelming success that Doki has had on Discovery Kids" said Angela Recio Sondon, Vice President and Channel Director of Discovery Kids Latin America. "This series will delight DOKI fans as well as attract new ones, and will create opportunities for multiple touch-points between DOKI and children everywhere."

"Children are inquisitive by Nature and there is no one better to take them on fun-filled adventures than DOKI and his friends," said Adriano Schmid, Senior Producer, Discovery Networks International. "Children will learn about the world around us through fun, mystery and a few mishaps."

Discovery Kids Latin America tapped Portfolio Entertainment to create the show, in response to an overwhelming demand from audiences who wanted to see more of the lovable DOKI. The inquisitive DOKI has a lot of questions - and he will go anywhere on the planet to get the answers! Any query can spark an expedition - where do rubber bands come from? What was it really like living in a castle? Do dragons really exist? From China to Brazil and from the bottom of the sea to the far reaches of outer space, DOKI and his friends Oto, Mundi, Fico, Anabella and Gabi set out on far flung adventures to get to the bottom - and sometimes the top - of the question.
